Our Winery Team


An Oregon native, Kristi and her co-founding husband Frank, fell in love with wine and vineyards while living near the Napa Valley in the 90's.  After an unsuccessful attempt at growing and making Pinot Noir back in Oregon, they decided to pursue their passion for bordeaux-style reds with fruit from the Northwest.  Kristi has an accomplished  palate  and has been invited to lead group wine tastings, create wine and food pairing events, and consult on wine cellar inventory development.  She is also a recognized WinePro on the Delectable mobile app where you can follow her wine ratings and reviews.  A classically trained musician, Kristi is a graduate of Portland State and Sonoma State Universities. She brings a background of sales, management, marketing, and finance to the winery.   She also speaks Russian and of course, some Italian!  Together Kristi and Frank have identical twin boys.




Frank's Italian heritage runs deep in the community. A first generation Italian-American and Troutdale, Oregon native, Frank hails from a family of farmers and home winemakers. He began farming in 1982 to pay for college and continues to manage his homestead-style farm today. Frank manages logistics for the winery and contributes to wine nuances with his astounding palate. Frank holds degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Portland, as well as a degree in Medicine from Oregon Health & Science University. Frank maintains a full-time medical practice in addition to winery duties. He can still be found fishing and hunting in his free time or chasing after the twins!






A native of Michoacan, Mexico, Rolando has made Napa his permanent home since 1985. His nearly 30-year winemaking career began with Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, followed by Chateau Potelle, Vine Cliff, and Paul Hobbs. Today Rolando manages wine production of over 30,000 cases annually including his own ultra-premium brands, Calcagno Cellars, and others. Rolando was recently invited to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington as he was recognized as a leading Mexican-American winemaker from the Napa Valley. His winery was also voted one of the ten hottest winereries of 2016 by Wine Business Monthly! Besides outstanding wine, he also makes fantastic carne asada!






Shauna’s experience in hospitality, tourism, and luxury goods sales is evident in the care and attention to detail she shows each client as Calcagno Cellars' Director of Sales and Hospitality.  She leads marketing initiatives including events, website presence and our recently launched Wine Club. Originally from Boring, Oregon, where she endured 11 years of summer berry farm labor, she enjoys spectating and cheering at her twin boys’ sports team events along with her husband.  She has completed 15 marathons, over 30 half-marathons, and a special 39-mile run that coincided with her 39th birthday.  Shauna is active in local charities and in the PTSA at her boys' school. Most importantly to Shauna, she has known the Calcagno family for more than 30 years and is thrilled to work with Frank and Kristi.
